NOTICES DUE TO HURRICANE DORIAN:

Please check Florida Division of Emergency Management for live updates on the status of the state after the storm: https://www.floridadisaster.org/info/

  • Florida has been declared in a State of Emergency by Governor Ron DeSantis as of late Wednesday, August 28th.
    • It is illegal to artificially inflate pricing during a State of Emergency. This includes pricing of fuel and other commodities sold inside the c-store.
    • Please refer to our webpage that has resources on industry laws specifically regarding price gouging.
    • If your store is reported for price gouging during a State of Emergency, there are severe fines and penalties that will result. Price gouging can also lead to criminal prosecution by the State of Florida, and not to mention the damage to your store’s reputation and long-term damage to profits in lost business.
    • Short term profits are not worth risking breaking the law.

  • Fuel Shortages and Runouts
    • We are monitoring terminal statuses. If your station was notified that you were put on the Fuel Release Policy, you will need to submit a Post-Hurricane Survey to have your fuel released.
  • Fuel Contamination Prevention Practices:

We want to reiterate the importance of checking your fill caps after each and every delivery to ensure that they are tight. You can also use petroleum jelly to line the cap to further protect from water intrusion.

Further, if you are planning to close your station, you should check your fill caps again before you leave.

Please refer to the email sent yesterday in regards to the prevention measures you can take to ensure no water contamination.
