Cocoa, Florida
Mike and Rashmi Shah, original founders of Southeast Petro Distributors, Inc. and their son and daughter Summit and Monica Shah will be celebrating 40 years in business on February 25, 2020. Along with their immediate family, work family and business partners, they will be celebrating with a private party to commemorate this momentous occasion.
The Shah family did not get where they are today, forty years later, without the help of their family, their business partners, their employees (also referred to as their work family) and of course the local Brevard County community.
“None of this would have been possible without my wife Rashmi, and my family supporting me through starting my first gas station business in Cocoa all those years ago. Our business partners and employees were the catalyst to our tremendous growth throughout the years, and of course the community that has supported us along the way has been the reason for our success. If you work hard, surround yourself with good people, and operate with integrity, anyone can succeed in life!” – Mike Shah
Back in 1980 when Southeast Petro’s story began, the cost of a gallon of milk was $2.16, the cost of a first-class stamp was $0.15, a dozen eggs would have cost $0.91 and a gallon of gas was $1.25.
Today, Southeast Petro Distributors, Inc. is one of the largest wholesale fuel suppliers and multi-site convenience store operators in the Southeast. The multi-generational family business, established in 1980, now supplies fuel to 450+ gas stations throughout the Southeastern United States, employing over 200 people across the three states in which it operates.
