Half of Americans say they’re optimistic about the economy, the highest percentage since November, the National Association of Convenience Stores reported in March.
The number is a six-point rise over the previous month’s figures. Extended low gas prices seem to be driving consumer optimism, NACS reports. Twenty-three percent of Americans surveyed said they planned to drive more over the next month; the year before, the number was 16 percent.
More than half of those surveyed – 53 percent – said they expected gas prices to rise. Read more here
