Fuel Release Policy – Pre Hurricane Survey (If your store is closing for the storm)

All SEPD retail and dealer stores that will have the most significant impact by a tropical storm or hurricane must complete at minimum a Post Hurricane Survey before their fuel will be released.

All stores that are put on notice that this policy will be enacted must provide a Pre-Hurricane Survey (only if they will be closing their store), and a Post Hurricane Survey at the time of re-opening. If the store closes, the Pre-Hurricane Survey will be critical in mobilizing fuel to the site if they are low on inventory. Not knowing inventory until after a storm significantly slows down fuel load scheduling.

Required Documentation: After the storm, stores will need to fill out the Post Hurricane Survey provided to them. Stores must manually stick their tanks to detect water or phase separation as well as provide a Veeder Root reading showing no water in their tanks.

Once the Post Hurricane Survey has been done, and the store meets the criteria specified below, the fuel will be released:

  • Store is open and has power
  • No water is present in tanks

If one or more of the above conditions are not met, fuel will not be released until the store has notified Southeast Petro otherwise and has provided the required documentation proving the required criteria has been met.

NOTE: If your store closes, a Pre-Hurricane Survey will be critical in mobilizing fuel to the site if they are low on inventory. Not knowing inventory until after a storm significantly slows down fuel load scheduling. If your store will be closing, please conduct the pre-hurricane survey at time of closure which is available to you below.
