Cape Canaveral, FL – Several restaurants at Port Canaveral including Milliken’s Reef, Rusty’s Seafood and Oyster Bar, and Fishlips Waterfront Bar and Grill at Port Canaveral have agreed to partner with Southeast Petro Distributors, Victory Casino’s Cruise Line and other local businesses to put on a fundraising event for the victims of the Pulse Orlando Nightclub Shooting that took place on June 12th, 2016 in Orlando, Florida.
Monica Shah, the Community Event Coordinator for Southeast Petro Distributors, Inc. has headed the effort to encourage the people of Brevard County and its local businesses to come together, united, as all have been shaken by the tragedy that has hit so close to home. Monica is the daughter of Mike Shah, founder and President of Southeast Petro Distributors. Like her father, her passion for people is something that comes naturally. “The Pulse Orlando shooting was a horrible tragedy, and I felt called to step up and do something for the town I call home,” Monica said. She continued, “The local Brevard businesses have been incredible during this entire planning process, and I am so grateful for the help and encouragement I have received from them and other members of the community to put this whole thing together.”
The Pulse Orlando Benefit will take place at Port Canaveral with Milliken’s Reef being the central location from 2:00pm–8:00pm on Sunday, July 24th, 2016. There will be food, drinks and live music at the participating restaurants at the Port, where 10% of the restaurant’s proceeds during the event will be donated to the One Orlando Fund. Local community leaders, first responders and victims of the shooting will be present and will be speaking.
