Getting EBT in your stores can be a hassle, but can be a huge revenue generator for retailers. If you have owned stores before, I am sure that you have had that lag period of waiting for EBT to be approved in your station. This lag period is what we call a lost opportunity for sales. However, once the system is up and running, and the hoops have been jumped through, EBT has reported to lift some businesses as much as 18% (source).
You will have to apply online with the USDA before you are eligible to accept EBT, but first you should make sure that you have read the Retail Store Eligibility Requirements to make sure that your store has all of the elements needed to properly implement EBT. There are additional training resources available to learn as much as you can on the USDA website about the program. Before the inspection takes place to approve your store to be able to accept EBT, you will want to review all of those resources.
For Southeast Petro customers, if you don’t have EBT or want to get more competitive pricing on EBT processing fees, we are able to help! Without additional costs to your store, and free signage, contact us to find out more about how we can assist you and your business in lowering your costs, increasing your business with EBT and getting someone else to do all the legwork for you. This is just another way that Southeast Petro customers benefit by partnering with our company.
If you are not a Southeast Petro customer, we can certainly help to point you in the right direction if you need some guidance.
We are happy to help! Fill out the contact form below before August 22nd, 2016 and we will be in touch with you as soon as we get everything in place.
