It is a proud moment for any business owner to be able to give back to the community that has given so much to them, but it is an even prouder moment when the culture of giving back is 
displayed by your employees.
Southeast Petro is no stranger to being a major sponsor or donor to many charitable organizations in Brevard County and throughout Florida, and neither are their employees. The hearts of the Southeast Petro staff are big, and seem to grow bigger and bigger as the company grows. If you visit the Southeast Petro Facebook page, you will see a multitude of posts about the many charities that the employees at Southeast Petro contribute to… many times on their own accord on behalf of Southeast Petro.
For many years now, Southeast Petro employees have been able to opt in to contribute to United Way of Brevard directly through their paychecks. Every week, many employees willingly give a percentage of their paycheck to the charity.
There were many other fundraising efforts made last year to increase the amount of the contributions, and make it fun and exciting for all involved. One of the fundraisers involved a raffle, where employees could enter to win prizes such a Paid Time Off (PTO), gift cards and other promotional items. Another option for employees was a “Jean Day” fundraiser where employees could donate each day they wanted to wear their jeans on a Monday through Thursday (Friday is a free jean day).
With all of the initiatives to raise money for the United Way in 2018, Southeast Petro employees were able to be listed in the group of organizations that contributed between $10,000 and $19,999 in the Brevard Business News article released June 17, 2019.
Giving back to the community that made Southeast Petro into the organization that it is today is an incredibly important part of the company culture. And there is no sign of it stopping. The staff have always made it a priority to support many organizations and families in the community, and have big plans to continue their efforts every year. This can all be attributed to the culture of giving that the company’s founder Mike Shah has instilled in each and every heart at Southeast Petro through his own example. It’s safe to say that everyone that works here is inspired to give back, happily and willingly. We’ve only just gotten started.
